Chelation therapy

The word „chelation“ means „pincers“ in Greek and explains the principle of the chemical effect of a complex which binds metals called „chelating agent“. Chelating agents bind metal ions and are then removed by the organism in a natural way. The chelation therapy is a process of detoxification which is acknowledged as a measure for lead poisoning by the orthodox medicine. But also in the case of many other diseases detoxification and purification of metals in the body play a central role.
The well-founded EDTA chelation therapy (EDTA stands for the complex former ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is an infusion therapy which is applied for around 40 years in the USA and for around three decades in Germany. Here one takes advantage of the fact that heavy metals are brought into a form that can be eliminated and no longer stay in the connective tissue due to the chelation formation.
The constant burden due to heavy metals favours numerous diseases and weakens the self-healing power of the already ill organism (e.g. in the case of cancer). During the chelation therapy the EDTA combines with metal ions which are combined with calcium, fat, fibrins (highly molecular proteins which are not soluble in water), foreign proteins and other components of the plaques. These compounds are transported with the blood to the kidneys where they are eliminated.
Due to the elimination of inorganic and toxic substances and metal ions the EDTA chelation therapy protects the body from free radicals and reduces thus the damage to cell membranes. Furthermore, the deterioration of pathological deposits of calcium in the tissue, in the muscles and in the sinews leads to improved mobility of the human being and eases pain.
The EDTA chelation therapy is a very effective treatment and supporting remedy in the case of numerous indications:
The preventive treatment with the chelation therapy is recommended for many risk diseases and complaints of old age. One has to take into consideration certain contra-indications. Depending on the diagnosis, different chelation formers are applied.
